Selena Gomez wishes that she will have a calling to become a mother one day. However, in an interview with Vanity Fair, Selena Gomez revealed that she can not become a mother, have a chance to be pregnant and give birth due to her chronic health issues. Her medical complications, including a lupus diagnosis, make her risky to have a safe pregnancy and give birth.

I haven’t ever said this, but I unfortunately can’t carry my own children, I have a lot of medical issues that would put my life and the baby’s in jeopardy. That was something I had to grieve for a while.

When she spoke to Vanity Fair, she expressed straight to have a family with her present boyfriend Benny Blanco in her future, but “it won’t necessarily the way I envisioned it. I thought it would happen the way it happens for everyone,”The Rare Beauty founder has gradually been open about her health issues since announcing her diagnosis with lupus in an interview with Billboard. “I’m in a much better place with that. I find it a blessing that there are wonderful people willing to do surrogacy or adoption, which are both huge possibilities for me.”, she added.

“I’m excited for what that journey will look like, but it’ll look a little different,” she shared. “It made me really thankful for the other outlets for people who are dying to be moms. I’m one of those people. I’m excited for what that journey will look like, but it’ll look a little different. At the end of the day, I don’t care. It’ll be mine. It’ll be my baby.”

The interview with Vanity Fair happens after four months when Selena’s boyfriend Blanco said to Howard Stern that having kids with Selena is the “next goal” in his life and “a topic of conversation to him every day”, he added.

And after Howard Stern radio show, Gomez said: “He can’t lie. After the interview, I was dying laughing. Like, ‘Anything else you wanted to put out there?”. Then, she continued sharing to Vanity Fair: “I’ve never been loved this way. He’s just been a light. A complete light in my life. He’s my best friend. I love telling him everything.”

This interview occurs while the “Emilia Perez” star is busy with her makeup brand, acting projects, music and investments. Currently, Selena Gomez is nominated for the best actress Emmy thanks to her performance in Only Murders in the Building. Now she is gaining praise from her role in Jacques Audiard’s Emilia Perez, which will release on Netflix in November after premiering at the Cannes Film Festival in May.

However, she repeated that her relationships are her priorities at this time. “Before I met my boyfriend, I was single for five years, with the exception of going on a few dates. And I was like, ‘OK, if this is the vibe, then what is the most important thing to me? Family.”. She added: “We always make sure we’re protecting what we have, but there’s no rules, I want him to always be himself. I always want to be myself.”

Moreover, Selena Gomez shared in Time magazine in early this year that she wanted to adopt if she was single at 35. “I was alone for five years, and I got really used to it,”. “A lot of people are afraid of being alone and I probably tortured myself in my head for like two years being alone, and then I kind of accepted it. Then I came up with my plan, which was I was going to adopt at 35 if I had not met anyone.”
